	Workshop How to make an art canvas - budget wise! Learn to make quality canvases, practically free! You leave with a canvas that you create. $5 donation Held in The Stahr Performing Arts Center: formerly Stahr Armory 438 N Queen Street, Basement Room B-6, Artist Studio Lancaster , PA Sunday, March 25, 2012, 1:00 PM This workshop teaches you how to make your own canvas! If you are an artist with a very tight budget than you can relate to the fact that a canvas is expensive! To save money and still continue to create great art we have discovered inexpensive ways to build amazing canvases mostly from recycled objects. In this workshop you will learn: ~What objects you need to create an amazing canvas ~Where to find items to make your canvas ~How to create your canvas ~What tools are the best tools to use (The skills taught in this workshop also relate to creating canvases from new materials as well). Each artist will leave with one amazing canvas that they created. This is a three hour workshop. A suggested donation of $5 for the workshop and a $5 material fee is required. A total of ten dollars, an excellent value. Chelas and Nobody worked, studied and played in the art industry for over 20 years. Chelas has been offering low-cost and free workshops in Lancaster since 2008. Chelas and Nobody are now non-profit. - -
	Workshop Learn the art of Face Painting $10 Donation Sunday, March 11, 2012, 1:00 PM Held in The Stahr Performing Arts Center: formerly Stahr Armory 438 N Queen Street, Basement Room B-6, Artist Studio Lancaster , PA Spring is almost here and summer activities will soon be on your agenda! If your life is surrounded with children than those activities involve arts and crafts and birthday parties! One of the most popular modern activities loved by almost every kid is face painting! Face and body art is a fast growing art form and the best way to learn it is from a world class professional! Chelas is now offering workshops on how to paint on people professionally and Chelas style! What will be taught: ~Body make-up, what to use on skin and what not to use! Practice with a variety of FDA approved products endorsed by the World Body Painting Association and the Face Painting and Body Art Association. ~A dozen quick designs that will make every child happy to have been painted by you! ~ Ask yourself... Do you want to paint as a hobbyist or professionally? Chelas can teach you how to do it, even if it's just for fun. A suggested donation of $5 for the workshop and a $5 material fee is required. A total of ten dollars, an excellent value. This is a 4 hour workshop. Punctuality is not required. You can drop in at any time between 1 and 4. Workshop ends at 5pm. Most of the workshop will consist of repetitive study of different designs and techniques. Children are welcome! Mr. Nobody Special will be available to entertain the young ones with balloons, puppets and games. And, of course, they are the perfect guinea pigs to practice your face painting skills on! - -

February 2012	Workshop Art Presentation Workshop $5 donation Bring a notebook to take notes! Sunday, February 19, 2012, 4:00 PM Held in The Stahr Performing Arts Center: formerly Stahr Armory 438 N Queen Street, Basement Room B-6, Artist Studio Lancaster , PA This is a two hour workshop. An intro into gallery presentation. This workshop is recommended for new and emerging artists who have an interest in displaying their art but have limited experience in doing so and would like to learn the basic how to. Each artist is encouraged to bring one piece of art, any medium, not too large, to be critiqued. We do not critique your art style or skill, just your presentation. This is a PRESENTATION workshop. Creating the artwork is only one step into the art world. Once you've completed your art you want the world to see it. This workshop helps you to make that step. It is an introduction into displaying your art. What will be discussed and what you will learn: ~Art Presentation. ~How to make your art desirable for display. ~Finishing touches. ~Where to display. ~Who's who in Lancaster. ~Art memberships and organizations. ~How to reach your goal. - -
	Workshop Intro to Photoshop $5 donation per workshop session. "Creating and designing a 4" x 5" greeting card" Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 6:00 PM Held in The Stahr Performing Arts Center: formerly Stahr Armory 438 N Queen Street, Basement Room B-6, Artist Studio Lancaster , PA Photoshop Workshop will include a series of 10 sessions that will teach Photoshop from beginning intro to completing a specific project. Chelas will teach Photoshop via projector. It is not mandatory to have a computer on hand, but we suggest that you bring your own laptop if you wish to work hands on during the workshop. Chelas does not provide computers for people to work off of. If you do not own Photoshop, Chelas will provide you with a copy of Gimp. Gimp is a free program equivalent to Photoshop and similar in almost every aspect. The first workshop is Intro to Photoshop. This is an absolute beginner workshop. It is very beginner. Intro to Photoshop will teach you step by step instructions on how to set up a project in Photoshop. Includes the how, what, why, and when instructions on: Image Size (resolutions, rulers, grids, canvas), Image Modes, Image Quality, File types, and Intro to Layers. The workshop will begin with the basic "how to set up your project". Opening Photoshop, starting a new project, and importing images into Photoshop. - -
